The story of April and Declan is a novella that was a great story but too short. I instantly liked the characters and the story. The love story just wasn't there for me because it was too short a story. I wish this had been a book instead of a novella. I've read Dana Mentink's books before and have liked them. This was just too short for me.
April and Declan are involved in a fast paced action story. The tension builds between them as he wants to be a Shield of Protection for her, but they must face their past. As the story unfolds, we also get to know his dog, who is also a Shield of Protection. Say yes to Suspense, Romance and a dog!😊
Her uncles in trouble but she can’t ask Declan for help. He’s just finished suing his special police training. But they have no choice in the end, he has to save the woman he loves.
This was a short read, an introduction to the series. Very good. I have already pre-ordered the first full length book in the series.

Very good short story. Clean romance and suspense. Loved the characters. K9s are so awesome. Wish it was longer! ;)
I am looking forward to reading the series she is trying to find her uncle, the bad guys are looking for both of them. he is a police officer in the k9 unit, can he protect her . if you like suspense and dogs you have to read the book
