THIS BOOK AND THE WORKBOOK THAT IS ACCOMPANIED BY THIS ARE EXCELLENT STUDY MATERIAL... EVERYONE IN CLASS CALLS THIS THE BIBLE... IT DEFINITELY HELPED ME AND NOW I'M IN MY THIRD SEMESTER.. HOWEVER THERE ARE SOME ISSUES WITH MATERIAL THAT MIGHT BE SORT OR OUT OF DATE DUE TO CHANGES IN PROTOCOL OR METHODS... I BELIEVE I BOUGHT THIS BOOK USED, AND IT CAME PRACTICALLY THE NEXT DAY AND FAR MORE BETTER CONDITION THAN EXPECTED.. IN FACTS IT WAS PRACTICALLY IN NEW CONDITION..

This book is a life time keeper and a life saver. It goes into detailed information that every CST needs to knw for their job in the OR and medical field. It also goes into details of other personal's job roles so there is no confusion when dealing with a patient during a routine scheduled surgery or an immediate trauma case. Details and pictures of surgical instruments are very helpful. Semi updated laws and regulations chapters are provided. I haven't finished the book yet, as I am still in the process of becoming a CST but am very happy with my educational learning tools so far. FYI anyone interested in this field of work, this book will be the last one issued for this semester. Next year a new text book will be distributed and used nation wide by all credited surgical tech programs.

look i used this book with the study guide together mandatory for becoming a surgical technologist in the army it is honestly good to do and will get the job done as it goes for passing your cst exam as well yes it may have some grammer errors but let me tell you everything in the book will answer everything in the study guide trust me i had to do the whole thing you have to look very closely and READ EVERYTHING you will find it in the text book trust me you will most likely find most of the answers in the small text but it is highly recommended it is on here for a reason and put out by the ast meant for students to not only pass classes and exams but the cst exam

I haven't started this course yet, because I am in the winter intermission, and I will be back to school in couple of weeks. But, I like this book already from the first chapter and the foreword that I read on my own. It looks to be a nice and relevant book. The transaction was very swift, and the delivery and handling were impeccable. Would buy from this vendor again.

This book has a good overview of the surgical procedures and lots of things to be aware of as a surgical technologist. However, if you want information on the body systems or why things are done, the last edition provides MUCH more understanding. This book adds information for dealing with the modern threats of bioterrorism, and current procedures for terrorist attacks and modern concerns. Again, if you want good information to pass a surgical technology course all in 1 book, get the 3d edition.

great book really helped me in school

I use this book for my surgi tech class. It's only supplemental but helped tremendously with my summer paper. Plus it is stressed how much of a role the AST has in the curriculum, so it's a great book to have
