Lovely illustrations. I enjoy reading Dogteam aloud to my grandchildren. Before beginning to read, I have them close their eyes and feel the cold, the dark, the snow, and listen for the dogs. Read quietly, it evokes the feel of dark winter and the sound of the dogs and the sled.

The rhythm of Paulson's prose literally made my daughter dance and sway. She also loves the dogs "singing". The book perfectly captures what it feels like to be out in the deep woods on a cold crisp bright winter night. I will be giving this book as a gift to other children for years to come.

This is my favorite children's book! It is beautifully written and transports you to a magical dogsled ride. I like to read my 2 year old daughter books about nature and this is one of the best. She likes howling with the dogs at the end.

We didn't love this story... Not bad, just not the kind of book we tend to like.

This book is one of my favorites that I bought as a Christmas gift to share with my children. Love the story. Buy in hardcover if you can, and your kids can hand down to their children. Books like this are SO much better than tv or video games!

Just a simple no nonsense description of the beauty of loyal dedicated dogs. For every dog or nature lover who wants to impart that appreciation to a child. Beautiful relaxing bedtime read. A must for those who don't live in an all season climate.
