While I'm sure this is "the sax bible" everyone says it is, it is clearly not for someone just starting out. On page 27 (i.e. quite a ways into the book) it says, "Note: It is taken for granted, that, the Student has already made himself acquainted with the Rudiments of Music." This is an understatement.The other problem I have is the print/typesetting is hard to read, and the illustrations are almost worthless. Fingering charts are impossible to read.That said, the book definitely is comprehensive. The spiral-bound version is great. It will stay on my shelf until such time as I improve enough to start using it.

The music teacher said this was "THE BOOK" for anyone wanting to know how to play the saxophone. My daughter, 13, is enjoying it and practices on her own without any intervention from me. She enjoys the book.

A SUPERB book full of great excercises and information. There is enough in here to last you for years. The keying diagrams are a little hard to understand but if you are this keen, you'll soon find some keying charts.

tons of drills that from basic to difficult. Easy to find several pages of things to work on every time I practice. Get the binder style to make page flipping a breeze.

An excellent exercise book for advanced students of both classical and jazz saxophone.

Just as advertised and a lot of music to play and practice.

Recommended to me by my teacher. A great book which helps work on various important techniques. Although the organization of the book itself isn't the order I would recommend going through the book in, it compiles a lot of great material.
