A marvelous very useful tool for traveling in Florida both for planning future travels and reviewing where you have already been.

Fragile - this atlas is not ideal for practical use. The pages are glued to the binding unlike the centerfold staple design of previous editions. The atlas began falling apart after a few months and now most of the pages are loose. This is especially problematic when I want to changes pages or move to a different section of the atlas - it's like sorting through a stack of individual sheets rather than turning pages.I'M HAPPY WITH THE CONTENT, but hate the binding. I stopped looking for a print shop that would coil bind it (I contacted more than a dozen) and am trying to come up with a way to keep the thing together.DeLorme - please fix this. Thank you.

After reading the reviews I decided to be super careful using this atlas, so I very gently and very carefully turned the pages. No more than 2 days after delicate use the damn thing started coming apart page by page until the entire back half was in pieces with pages falling all over the place! After that I spent the rest of the time putting it back in numerical order. Now pages 59 to page 158 are completely separated from the binding. I am not happy about this after spending $21.00.Delorme you must do better than this.That being said this atlas got me everywhere I wanted to go without a bit of trouble, except of course for the pages going all over the place and me spending time putting them back in order.

This Atlas has excellent, highly readable maps - what I expected. However, the binding is virtually unusable. The pages become unglued and detach from the book. Not at all what I expected. I would strongly recommend against buying the Atlas unless you are willing to go to a print shop and pay for re-binding.

Grid map make it a very easy for you to locate the area you need to go! All back roads, off road camping, campgrounds and more are at your fingertips. My husband and I live in our RV full time and we have learned to put our trust in this collection of maps. One suggestion to Delorme Publishing though.... we would be willing to spend a few extra $$$ if you would also make this available with a spiral spine (notebook) design similar to what Rand McNally offers. It is really nice to be able to lay it flat to read and keep it open to the page you want!

The maps are current (revised in 2012) and highly detailed, but unfortunately come to within 1/4 inch of the edge the page. This is fine for the top, side and bottom, but along the binding it makes the maps difficult to view without forcing the pages apart.Other DeLorme Atlas and Gazetteers I have in my library are stapled together. However, due to its size (160 pages and almost half an inch thick) this one has a glued book-style binding.I can almost guarantee this design will lead to premature failure of the binding. The problem could easily be solved by allowing for a wider margin along the binding or even better, by the use of a spiral binding. Being able to lay the maps open flat would make this atlas much more user friendly and lengthen its lifespan considerably.

When it comes to exploring, there's just so much detail for the backcountry that it's hard to get lost when you put street and avenue signs to use and know how to use the Sun as a compass (or just have a compass). I used these extensively during my Florida trip and it's a great way to plan ahead when you can't afford expensive data on a mobile phone. It's also great to find things to do while visiting, things I didn't know about. The only downside is that cities, especially the large ones like Tampa, Tallahassee, or Miami, could have several more pages to cover these in greater detail, labeling each road and many more important locations like Adventure Island (adjacent to Busch Gardens).

I had a copy of this atlas but I must have given it away. I bought this one, thinking it would be identical. It isn't. Sure, all the information is there but the binding is like a book - not stapled like the old one I had. As a result, it is difficult to see the information on the map close to the spine. The book does not lay flat like the one I had and for this reason, I am giving this edition a 3. DeLorme, what were you thinking??

The Delorme atlas series contains very detailed state maps with excellent information about each state and within each map grid. The only disadvantage for some map readers is that each page is a grid quadrant of the state territory rather than map pages divided along town, city or county lines as is done in other state atlases. For example it will take several pages to get from Pensacola across to Jacksonville.This may bother some people who buy a Delorme atlas for the first time, but I have several others and this system is easy to use and informative enough for me. An AAA map, or equivalent, is probably best for use while you're driving, and the Delorme atlas is best for "research" while taking a break or planning a trip.
